Fall Yard Clean-Up Events - October 2024

October 11th, 16th, 18th and 30thh - Free Green Yard Waste Disposal at the Twisp Transfer Station 10am-3pm (for all Methow Valley Residents)

This Free Green Yard Waste Disposal event provides Methow Valley residents with an alternative to backyard burning of their yard debris this fall. Residents can come to the Twisp Transfer Station to dispose of their yard waste for this special collection 10am-3pm on 10/11, 10/16, 10/18 & 1/030

This event is put on in partnership with Okanogan Conservation District, Resilient Methow, Fire Adapted Methow Valley, Town of Twisp and Okanogan County Solid Waste Management.

Allowed:

  • All natural vegetation

  • Branches and woody debris no shorter than 2’ long and no larger than 4” diameter

  • Brush and shrubs

  • Weeds

  • Pine needles and cones

  • Leaves and grass clippings

  • Flowers, plants, fruit and vegetable plant trimmings

Not allowed:

  • Garbage of any kind

  • Lumber or treated wood

  • Homegrown fruit

  • Dirt

  • Construction debris/materials

  • Plastics

  • Paper

Note: Please separate branches/woody material from yard waste.

Bagged vegetation will be emptied and checked by staff to ensure it contains all-natural yard waste ONLY.

Limit two yards of material.

Okanogan County Solid Waste, in partnership with the Okanogan Conservation District, Clean Air Methow and Fire Adapted Methow Valley, and with funding from WA Department of Ecology, will be waiving fees for green yard waste brought to the Twisp transfer station for these three days of the event.
